I’m very excited to share with you that my short story, The H in Heartache is Silent has been published in Barrelhouse Literary Magazine. The story is a part of a special issue called I’ve Got Love on My Mind: Black Womxn on Love and it features poetry, fiction, non-fiction and artwork by Black womxn. The amazing and talented writer, Tyrese Coleman, served as guest editor and the issue is her vision and brainchild.
The issue came out on February 14, 2020, that’s right Valentine’s Day. Isn’t that just perfect?
I am very honored to have my work featured in this special issue. To be a writer is to be brave and hear no after no after no. But sometimes that yes hits just right. And this one did. I this story years ago, forgot about it, remembered when I saw the call for submissions, and then edited like crazy cause I’d grown wiser as a writer and a woman. Sometimes that yes hits just right. Just how it’s supposed to. On its own beat, but in perfect time.
I hope you’ll read it, share it, and most of all enjoy.
